Luxembourg and Covid-19
As many clients of our Firm owns or are in business relationships with Luxembourg SPVs (corporate entities or funds) it is useful to hereby recap the basic information about the rules related to the Covid-19 outbreak in the Grand Duchy. A state of emergency legislation has been promulgated on 18 March 2020 for a period of 3 months.

Governance. SPVs meetings might be hold without physical presence. Minor rules has been introduced in order to maintain the good corporate governance of Luxembourg companies The Luxembourg Business Register is closed to the public but fully operative with online services (electronic filings, extracts, deeds, declarations, etc.).

Funds. The CSSF has published a series of communications in order to cope with the exceptional situation. Please refer to www.cssf.lu.

Tax. The Luxembourg government has decided extensive tax deferral measures and ordered VAT refunds for businesses and self-employed persons, in order to counteract the economic impacts from the Covid-19 crisis. A specific rule has been posted about teleworking for Belgian and French cross-border commuters.

Courts proceedings. On March 26th the Grand Ducal Regulation has been promulgated and entered into force suspending all deadlines set for judicial, administrative, military and constitutional courts.
