The event was organised by the Italian Embassy in London, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom, in collaboration with Belluzzo International Partners and Trust & Wealth. The speakers reminisced on the great football matches of the past between Italy and England and highlighted the value of their national leagues. The event was designed to coincide with the England-Italy Euros qualifier match on the same day.
Gabriele Gravina, President of the Italian Football Federation, celebrated Italy’s victory in the 2021 European Championships and covered several topics, one being the allocation of the 2032 European Championships to Italy and Turkey. He also focused on the current issue of the betting and gambling addiction affecting young footballers.
The President confirmed his determination to take strong action, including the possible application of sanctions, while at the same time confirming his commitment to stand by players who have been affected and need assistance.
During the event Fabio Capello, Gianfranco Zola, and Angelo Ogbonna received an awards in recognition of their service to Italian football over the last 50 years, bringing success to our national team and fans worldwide.
Alessandro Belluzzo emphasized the importance of athletes having professional assistance to organise and manage their personal and professional affairs from the early stages of their career to retirement and beyond, in order to plan and safeguard legal, financial, and asset-related aspects and reduce potential reputational risks.
Special thanks goes to Inigo Lambertini, the Italian Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Stefano Boldrini and Massimiliano Vitelli for coordinating the event; Gabriele Gravina, President of FIGC; Fabio Capello, Gianfranco Zola, and Angelo Ogbonna; Alessandro Belluzzo; the football Agents Giovanni Branchini, Roberto De Fanti, Alfonso Morrone, Rafaela Pimenta, and Giuseppe Riso; Massimo Tucci, Davide Biondini, and Fabio Poli of Football Summit; and Domenico Scopelliti of Trust and Wealth for organising the event.
