Visa-free short-term touring will be allowed in 19 member states for UK musicians and performers

Visa-free short-term touring will be allowed in 19 member states for UK musicians and performers
During negotiations with the EU, the UK Government had discussions with every member state about the issues the creative and cultural industries would face when touring in Europe.  Proposals were put forward to allow UK musicians and other creative professionals to tour abroad without restrictions.

19 Member States – Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden – have now confirmed that musicians and performers from the UK will not require visas or work permits for short-term tours.

Talks are ongoing with the remaining EU Member States that do not allow visa and permit free touring.  The UK Government requested an alignment of their arrangements with UK’s generous rules, which allow touring performers and support staff to come to the UK for up to 3 months without a visa. Formal requests have been put forward to Spain, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, Malta, and Cyprus.

The UK Government wants to ensure that when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, musicians and other creatives can tour in the EU with minimal restrictions
