The Focus Team focuses on generational and succession governance, integrating trust&estate planning activities into the regulatory and compliance context related to the specific Customer.
Company law and legal instruments are at the heart of the business, considering family assets and possessions and identifying best practices or tailor-made solutions when the context so requires.
The multidisciplinary and multi-jurisdictional team analyses all regulatory, jurisprudential and practical news in order to propose solutions in line with Customers’ needs.
Examples of our case histories:
- The third generation asks us to structure a family agreement and reorganise the proprietary architecture of the holding companies and business activities, looking at the fifth-generation perspective.
- A widow wants to organise her own succession and asks us to assess the impact on her goals towards her children and grandchildren, considering her genuine tax residence in Italy, Switzerland or the UK.
- Two entrepreneurial brothers sell their company to an international group and ask us to study rules and principles to accompany the transformation and involve their children and grandchildren in setting up two Family Offices, one for each family unit, that can best manage the results of the sale. They also ask for an efficient system to be set up to involve their descendants, whilst leaving them free to pursue their work goals and passions.
- One family branch asks us to legally structure a family agreement preceded by a family buy out in order to liquidate the other branch, with which it had previously defined all the practical details. We designed the solution and helped with the implementation, including support for the merger service vehicles.
